Research stay of the Director of ACOUSPHEM at Matelys Research Lab

As part of an ongoing FONDECYT Regular project 1250496 on wave propagation in multiscale poroelastic media, the principal investigator, Dr. Venegas, completed a research stay at Matelys Research Lab, a French company internationally recognised for its expertise in acoustics of materials.

The visit included collaborative work with the Matelys team on theoretical and computational aspects of multiscale poroelastic media, as well as discussions on modelling strategies, numerical frameworks, and experimental methodologies. A technical seminar on recent developments in wave propagation in complex poroelastic media was also delivered.

The stay strengthened scientific interaction between both institutions and contributed to consolidating shared research interests at the interface between theory, numerical modelling, and experimental approaches. Following these activities, Matelys Research Lab and the Universidad Austral de Chile formalised their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a framework for continued scientific exchange between the two institutions.

We are grateful to the Matelys team for their warm welcome and fruitful scientific discussions.
