ACOUSPHEM Welcomes Prof. Camille Perrot from Univ. Gustave Eiffel

Prof. Camille Perrot (Université Gustave Eiffel, France) visited the ACOUSPHEM Laboratory at the Institute of Acoustics, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) in Valdivia. His visit was supported by Université Gustave Eiffel and formed part of the ongoing scientific collaboration between the two institutions, complementing research activities carried out within FONDECYT Regular Project No. 1250496.
Prof. Perrot’s visit provided an excellent opportunity to advance ongoing research on the acoustics of permeable media. During his stay, he participated in research meetings and technical discussions focused on the modeling and characterisation of permeable materials, shared his expertise in multiscale modeling and material characterisation, and interacted with undergraduate and graduate students involved in acoustics research.
As part of his visit, Prof. Perrot delivered a seminar entitled “Microstructure-property-manufacturing relations for transport and acoustics in heterogeneous porous materials”, where he presented recent advances in the theoretical and experimental characterisation of porous materials. The seminar brought together faculty members, researchers, and students, generating stimulating discussions and promoting the exchange of ideas.
The collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at UACh and Université Gustave Eiffel continues to provide a strong framework for international scientific cooperation. By bringing together complementary expertise in acoustics, porous media, multiscale modeling, and material characterisation, both institutions are contributing to a deeper understanding of sound propagation in complex media.
We sincerely thank Prof. Camille Perrot for his visit and look forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration through future research, academic exchanges, and joint scientific initiatives.
